FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY – DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY

LECTURER IN WORKSHOP TECHNOLOGY (7 months Temporary Full Time) – VACANCY NO: IRC 1156

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to (i) teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Design and Technology Education and Industrial Design; (ii) take an active part in the supervision and assessment of undergraduate and graduate students’ research projects; (iii) serve on committees within the University and external professional organisations; (iv) carry out any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements: Applicants should have: (i) at least PhD degree in Design/Manufacturing Technologies/Manufacturing or related field, specializing in manipulation of Design Materials and Processes; (ii) A Master’s degree in Design/Design for Manufacture or related field; (iii) a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design/Design and Technology Education or related field; (iv) show evidence of engagement in research.  Evidence of governance and social engagement in Urban Design or related field, as well as teaching experience at a University or comparable institution will be added advantages.

N.B. Applicants with Master’s Degree in Design/Design for Manufacture or related field with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design/Design and Technology Education of at least 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent may be considered under special circumstances.
