Technical Account Manager (5 years Contract), Tenable in Gaborone


Main Purpose of the Job:


Reporting to the Head of Sales, the incumbent shall be responsible fo growing revenue in line with set targets through proposal response including solution design and written response to technical requirement, converting customer requirement into opportunities through crafting customized solutions, Overseeing solution implementation, presentation of complex solutions to customers.

Key Responsibilities                                                                                                



  • Develop monthly sales call program considering local market dynamics and competitors.
  • Analyse and monitor sales trends and volumes and propose changes to processes, systems, training and procedures. Ensure compliance to standards. Furthermore, the ability to use the data from the sales trends and volumes to propose solutions.
  • Design demonstration packs and the overall demonstration program for a product, process or channel, then present developed technical solutions to customers
  • Manage risks within a process by to identifying and report possible risks to the organisation and take steps to limit risk by managing exceptions and reducing variations in processes, adhering to risk controls, monitoring data accuracy, and ensuring compliance with processes, laws and regulations.
  • Anticipate and address problems related to own field of expertise.
  • Apply technical skill to deal with new problems, provide technical analysis and data to guide decision-making.
  • Maintain long term relationships through strategic alignment of company product/service profile with that of client strategies and goals.
  • Develop comprehensive forecasting models using Excel spreadsheets or similar software.
  • Call on prospective clients (face to face), analyse their needs, present product features and benefits, provide solutions (multiple products)

Academic Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have attained the following:


  • Qualification: Bachelors’ degree in Business/Telecommunications Engineering or related fields.
  • Minimum of five (5) years post qualification experience in a technical sales environment
  • Experiential knowledge and understanding of the Telecommunications Industry products and services is essential.
