The U.S. Mission in Gaborone, Botswana is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Supervisory Voucher & Business Analyst.
The work schedule for this position is: Full Time – 40 hours per week. The position may be subject to overtime work, which will be accordingly compensated.
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or his/her candidacy may end.
Supervisory Position: Yes
Duties: The incumbent leads the Vouchering team in overseeing a range of vouchering operations while supervising-three Voucher Examiners and a Financial Assistant (Designated Billing Office/Voucher Assistant). Acts as liaison between mission customers and counterparts, vendors, and the respective Financial Service Centers regarding payment and voucher issues. Provides guidance in interpreting laws and regulations to the supervised staff and ensures that post policies and procedures are followed. The incumbent serves as the primary subject matter expert to develop, implement, and maintain data analysis systems to track all available and applicable data-points for Financial Management performance reporting. Drafts and maintains new / existing Standard Operating Procedures, Process Maps, Flowcharts, Post Policies, and training material for all reportable / measurable Financial Management Center (FMC) activity. Liaises to learn and share best practices with staff occupying similar positions in other posts. On a limited basis, may be called upon to serve as an Alternate Cashier.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Project Management, Data Science, or a related field is required.
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in Finance (including bookkeeping, accounting, banking) and/or Data Science/Analytics is required. At least two years of supervisory experience is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have prior financial experience related to vouchering and petty cash operations, experience in data and/or statistical analysis (particularly financial data analysis), project management, analytical and written/oral presentation skills.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing of English is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Incumbent must be organized and a highly detailed-oriented team player with a customer service focus. Must have the ability to understand and interpret complex regulations and solid math skills and accounting skills. Incumbent must be proficient with a personal computer and related Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and be able to learn various computer software applications. The incumbent must be able to use data extracted from various systems to effectively analyze, document, and communicate data mined, requiring professional written and oral skills. “This may be tested.”
Qualifications: Local prescriptive privileges must be acquired. All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
