Main Purpose of the Job
Responsible for overseeing the opening, servicing and closing of all deposit accounts and ensuring agreements comply with relevant laws, regulations and organisational policies and procedures.
Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Review and verify accuracy of new, and replacement, account documents as well as accuracy of data on the system.
- Verify that each new account requiring special attachments or documents has been correctly completed.
- Monitor and ensure that new accounts are correctly loaded onto the organisation’s database in accordance with organisational standards and within specified timelines.
- Verify that all new customers are properly identified according to the organisation’s customer identification program.
- Run system reports for new customers as required.
- Verify that all requisite documents have been received and correctly reflect on the system; return incomplete or erroneous documents to Customer Service Agents for correction.
- Prepare monthly statistical reports (e.g., Closed Account tracking).
- Ensure that deposit related documents are correct and appropriately scanned and index on the organisation’s document imaging system; Submit document corrections to appropriate departments.
- Verify reports for input accuracy.
- Analyse and research items on un-posted and settlement accounts for resolution.
- Review accounts processes in order to identify improvement opportunities.
- Review staff performance and identify opportunities for improvement through on-the-job and classroom training.
- Ensure adherence to SLAs, OLAs and organisational standards.
- Serve as the first point of escalation for all issues, questions and/or concerns related to deposit account administration.
- Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements including those related to KYC, AML, CFT and fraud prevention.
- Ensure that all issues, questions and concerns related to deposit account administration are appropriately addressed in accordance with organisational standards.
- Process difficult or sensitive transactions.
- Supervise all account applications including opening, changes and transfers.
- Remain abreast of all relevant regulation applicable to deposit accounts.
- Monitor dormant overdrawn and inactive accounts and share monthly reports with branches.
- Ensure that unclaimed and dormant accounts are published quarterly as per the organisation’s policy.
- Verifies new and stop deduction and submit to the relevant office.
Requirements
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Administration, Operations Management, Strategic management or related area Experience: Three (3) years’ experience in banking operations Competencies: Problem solving and analytical thinking
