Purpose of the Role

To manage, co-ordinate and control project site construction activities and provide contractor management support to Project Managers / Project Engineers to derive the desired quality of deliverables and compliance to pre-set standards, specifications and schedules on projects. Enhance and protect organizational value by providing advice, foresight and risk-based objective assurance for all Debswana operations.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Provides input into project budget requirements
  • Provides project cost performance support input into work progress costing for progress payment, familiarizing with construction project budgets, understanding budgetary limitations, driving work progress in line with cash flow commitments
  • Participates in initiation and planning of projects through providing input to development of Scope, Bill of Quantities & Schedule, providing input to identifying required Specifications and Standards for projects, participating in tender site visits
  • Maintains the service level agreements (SLAs) internally and externally according to agreed standards, time constraints and customer satisfaction levels
  • Attends to all administrative functions of the department, taking cognizance of the need to create a clear audit trail
  • Identifies and manages the implementation of and adherence to legal and corporate governance principles/requirements
  • Familiarizes with, coordinates and manages the Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures in area of responsibility as well as compliance to the statutory requirements such as stipulated in the Mines, Works, Quarries and Machinery Act (MWQM)

Other Job Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with all key stakeholders and partners for achievement of business objectives

Education

  • National Craft Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent

Experience

8 years post qualification experience in a Construction/Mining environment

Legal Certification/Professional Registration

  • ERB Registration
