Job Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Quality Management, the position will be responsible for coordinating and managing implementation of BVI’s biosafety/biosecurity and SHE program.  Additionally, providing technical support to identify, prevent and manage biosafety/biosecurity,

The Job

The incumbent will be responsible for, among others, the following;

  • Develop a Biosafety/biosecurity, quality and SHE educational program for staff at the BVI to ensure safety of staff and environment.
  • Maintaining the international and national Biological Safety Standards,
  • Developing and supporting documented quality management systems and tools to support implementation.
  • Creating awareness of the biosafety/biosecurity and SHE standards across the production departments and ensuing compliance.
  • Ensuring the investigation of all Biosafety/Biosecurity spills/exposure incidents, as well as, developing and implementing of corrective action plans.
  • Reviewing and maintaining Biosecurity, Quality Health Safety and Environment Management Systems in line with evolving industry standards, Additionally, ensuring Good Manufacturing Practice and third-party requirements.

Minimum Requirements

The Person

The right candidate will possess the following minimum requirements:

  • A minimum of a BSc in Biological sciences or a Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant discipline.
  • Prof./Tech Certificate/working knowledge Quality Management System ISO 9001, ISO 45001,
  • ISO/IEC17025. GMP and quality auditing skills.
  • A minimum of five (5) years in Quality Management in production or manufacturing environment.
  • A minimum of one (1) year in supervisory or management role.
