Senior Officer, Digital Platforms and Teacher Experience at BOTSWANA TEACHING PROFESSIONALS COUNCIL

Role Purpose

Reporting to Manager, Corporate Affairs, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordination, supervision and execution of the Council’s digital platforms and teacher experience responsibilities including but not limited to establishing, implementing, and monitoring teacher experience service standards to ensure that professionalisation communication is clear and widespread and that the teacher experience and interaction with the Council is positive.

  • Clear communication and understanding of teacher requirements for professionalisation.

The main duties include but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to the development of the corporate affairs strategy.

  • Prepare teacher experience standards for review and approval by management and directors.

  • Prepare digital platform marketing and use policies and standards for management review and adoption throughout the organisation.

  • Prepare a digital marketing plan and a teacher experience monitoring plan for the year in liaison with other departments.

  • Provide digital marketing and communication and teacher experience advise to the Council’s management in support of the Council’s decision-making process.

  • Prepare Teacher experience service standards in collaboration with other functions for review, input, and adoption.

  • Establish procedures to monitor teacher experience with their engagement and interaction with the Council and report periodically to management on the results.

  • Establish an action plan with other management to address any poor experiences or inadequate experience with the Council services.

  • Continuously assess improvements in teacher experience and make.

  • Review reports containing data on teacher professionalisation demographics, preferences, needs, and trends to identify potential markets and factors affecting local product demand.

  • Monitor industry statistics and follow trends in the sector.

  • Prepare reports of findings, illustrating data graphically and simplifying complex findings into actionable intelligence.

  • Review research reports on teacher professionalisation opinions and marketing strategies, collaborating with marketing professionals, statisticians, pollsters, and other professionals to gather intelligence of the industry.

  • Devise and evaluate methods and procedures for collecting data, such as surveys, opinion polls, or questionnaires, or arrange to obtain existing data.

  • Measure and assess teacher experience and satisfaction.

  • Measure the effectiveness of communications programs and strategies.

  • Liaise with advertising agencies to develop marketing campaigns on teacher professionalisation and to maximise impact on the public and relevant market segments.

  • Liaise with the Council Directors to prepare teacher outreach programmes.

  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual performance monitoring reports on all teacher experience and digital platform performance and recommend strategies for improving performance where necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field required.

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the marketing and communications field with at least two (2) years’ experience at supervisory level.

  • Experience implementing digital marketing and communication policies, processes, systems, and internal controls in a medium to large organisation.

  • Experience establishing and monitoring customer experience service standards.
