Applicants are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Senior Manager: Human Capital & Culture (Distribution).
Role Purpose
Responsible for implementing and managing the delivery of Human Capital & Culture strategy for the Distribution channel (employees and non employees – representatives) to ensure an ongoing acquisition, development, remuneration and retention of appropriate talent to maximize high performance.
Key Performance Areas
HR Strategic Partnering
- Translates the people strategy for the Distribution channel into specific actions for implementation and success measures.
- Provides strategic Human Capital & Culture direction to Distribution management to ensure that business challenges, people needs and priorities are understood and suitably addressed.
- Develops structures and processes related to the people agenda in support of the business strategic intent to professionalize Distribution.
- Ensures an understanding of business needs and objectives by reviewing business plans and engaging with representatives and key stakeholders.
- Develops clear Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with departments and ensure that these SLAs are upheld.
Culture
- Develops appropriate value propositions for the Distribution channel.
- Forges closer alignment between the external brand promise and the Distribution agenda, and ensures Distribution incorporation into the internal corporate culture.
- Facilitates and monitors differentiation of representatives’ performance and experience within their contract life cycle.
- Contributes to appropriate Talent Management.
- Practices and processes within relevant frameworks industry specific and in alignment with the business’ strategy.
Manpower Planning
- Spearheads Distribution structures against organizational design principles; business case development (aligned to strategic levers); people impact analysis (relative manpower plan); project management rigor and development and implementation of a change management plan.
- Ensures that sales talent pipeline is developed and grows to meet Distribution’s needs.
Recruitment and Selection
- Manages and implements the recruitment and selection process of representatives to ensure optimal resourcing levels.
- Initiates the identification of Sales Talent that must be nurtured, developed and retained within the business.
- Establishes internal controls and minimize recruitment risks.
Performance Management
- Ensures performance management principles and processes are followed by the entire Distribution network.
- Advises the Distribution Network of the latest local and international trends during the process of identifying and developing performance incentive mechanisms in support of business objectives.
- Ensures and drive a high-performance culture for Distribution by empowering sales team with the right coaching, mentoring and relevant training interventions to drive performance.
- Implements poor performance management mechanisms either to establish appropriate corrective measures or to facilitate legal contract termination procedures.
Remuneration
- Establishes a competitive stance with respect to sales remuneration structure with emphasis on facilitating a high performance-based culture.
- Oversees the day to day operational remuneration related matters for representatives.
Learning and Development
- Initiates the development of an annual training plan for Distribution channel and ensures implementation of the agreed Training Plan.
- Advises and guide in skills gap analysis for all existing and new recruits; and ensure adequate development plans.
- Works closely with Training Academy to identify learning and development need for Distribution for the fulfilment of their Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
- Sets the minimum standards of proficiency for each training intervention to ensure quality of training and development of professional representatives and evaluate the benefits of the training interventions.
Cost Management
- Develops and manages the annual operating and expenditure budgets, ensuring that all expenditures are accounted for, and that costs are contained within budget parameters.
- Supports in preparation and management of the unit’s annual expense budgets.
Governance and Quality Assurance
- Ensures compliance with people management and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Works closely with Compliance, Risk and Legal Department to ensure Distribution is compliant and the required reporting are completed.
- Manages the Distribution’s operational risks plan and provide mitigations.
- Coordinates Distribution audit processes
- Reviews, develops and Implements Human Capital & Culture policies and procedures to ensure that Distribution complies with the regulatory bodies and statutes.
- Ensures Distribution reporting is completed as prescribed by the regulator.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent field.
Experience
- 8 years working experience, of which 5 years should be at a managerial level within the Human Resources management discipline.
