Risk Management
- Ensure risk governance by:
- Developing frameworks, policies and strategies.
- Managing risk management technology and tools.
- Establishing and maintaining risk committee oversight.
- Manage ERM staff.
- Manage liaison with various stakeholders.
- Align risk, strategy and performance by:
- Incorporating risk management into strategy.
- Operationalize risk appetite.
- Embed risk management in business processes.
- Enhance risk culture by:
- Fostering risk awareness.
- assigning accountability and ownership.
- developing enterprise-wide risk management skills.
- Manage the ERM process effectively through identifying, assessing, responding, monitoring and reporting risks.
- Provide guidance on the risk identification and completing the risk registers across the departments.
- Aggregation of risks across the departments and reporting risk in an integrated manner.
- Manage the automation of risk management activities.
Financial
- Prepares and manages budget for the department.
- Promote value creation and preservation by attainment of target by departments through application of risk management initiatives.
Resources and Assets
- Recommends the acquisition and disposal of assets.
Human
- Apply human resource policies and practices that ensure attraction, development and retention of talented staff.
- Ensure that employees are suitably qualified, experienced, motivated and rewarded.
- Discipline staff in accordance with set human resource policies and procedures.
- Mentors and coaches team.
- Entrench a culture of performance management within the department.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, accounting, business or related field and relevant risk management training.
- Master’s degree in risk management would be an added advantage.
- Professional qualification and membership will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive experience in a risk management environment, preferably 2 to 3 years in a specialist role or equivalent in a bank.
- Understanding of the Bank’s products, services, and competitors’ product lines.
