This position is responsible for providing leadership, guidance and direction for the planning and coordination of maintenance scheduling and programs of work.

Key Performance Areas
- Responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance, corrective works and project works and ensures resources and spare parts are available to carry out works.
- The Senior Maintenance planner oversees the contractors for maintenance support. It also includes the planning and execution of maintenance for all surface operation mobile equipment including cranes, telehandlers, forklifts, front end loaders, skid steers, carry crane trucks, light duty vehicles.
- The role also requires the development and upskilling of planning staff through coaching and mentoring.
- Create schedules for maintenance work including long term preservation requirements and act as backup for Planner/Scheduler.
- Analyse maintenance plans and load level as required (Upon introduction of new equipment)
- Initiate review of Equipment Maintenance Plans and maintenance strategies to ensure Regulatory, Safety and criticality are prioritized.
- Participate in the pre-qualification of bidders (including capabilities, capacities, and financial status), monitor and track maintenance compliance to Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE), Quality and Finance procedures currently in place.
- Audits Maintenance Program to ensure commensurate with industry best practices.
- Ensures maintenance Preventative Maintenance compliance is in accordance with manufacturer’s / industry standards.
- Reports as to compliance and provides analysis of any variances.
- Conducts ongoing, regular reviews to ensure the integrity of the maintenance history database, in acceptable format.
- Assumes ownership of maintenance history database.
- Provides safety oversight in execution of Maintenance Program.
- Reviews maintenance program to ensure plan includes reasonable resources, training, and supervision a team of skilled and non-skilled workers.
- Ensures maintenance program conforms with manufacturers recommended maintenance and addresses schedules, preventive maintenance equipment repairs, and inspections.
- Audits the planning for major jobs, including the ordering of parts and materials and scheduling of resources.
- Prepares equipment and materials lists for major jobs and ensures that equipment and materials are available when required.
- Investigates all accidents, incidents and near-misses involving the all fleet, and takes corrective actions for immediate, longer term and permanent remediation.
- Compile monthly planning reports and submit to Mechanical Superintendent.
- Preparation of yearly maintenance budgets with Superintendents.
- Ensure cost control and correct cost allocation.
- In collaboration with the Health and Safety Department ensure that the necessary steps are taken to educate employees about the risks and providing appropriate training to reduce or eliminate workplace hazard, including occupational diseases, and protect service employees

Qualification & Experience
- Mechanical Engineering Diploma / Degree or equivalent
- Working knowledge of equipment, materials, software and tools used in the industry.
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Qualification in CMMS system (PRONTO, SAP)
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the maintenance planning field.
- Well experienced in reliability centred maintenance programs.
- Maintenance Budget preparation.
