Our Client in the Poultry industry is looking for an innovative senior Inventory and Procurement Officer to lead our procurement and warehouse functions. You will lead the purchasing process from selecting suppliers to ensuring stock optimization, import products and manage stock levels.
You will be an Inventory and Procurement expert who will be responsible for procurement and inventory control in multiple locations and business divisions in the business managing an in-time procurement process within the ERP system and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensuring all purchases are bought at the most competitive prices, delivered on time, and meeting agreed quality standards.
• Ensure vendor vetting and contract pricing set up with pre-approved suppliers.
• Management and maintain supplier master files including service agreements, terms and conditions, and product quality standards.
• Manage inventory levels on the ERP system and ensure a JIT procurement process.
• Develop internal controls to ensure segregation of duties in procurement process and inventory control.
• Managing inventory across multiple locations including procurement tracker on imported products.
• Manage long terms contracts and pricing.
• Manage import permit process.
• Assist with monthly stock take and variance reconciliation.
• Achieve agreed targets in terms of cost price reductions, service levels and rebate.
• Leading the Distribution Centre Warehouse Management team by providing clear direction and support to this vital part of the supply chain.
• Maintain inventory item codes and inventory user authority levels on ERP system.
Minimum Requirements
• Degree in Procurement and Contract Management or Similar
• Fully conversant with modern procurement and systemic purchasing techniques.
• 3 to 5 year’ work experience in Procurement and Contract Management or similar.
• Ideally has experience providing senior leadership within a supply chain warehouse environment.
• Attention to detail with a commercial acumen to be results orientated.
• Ideally have experience in the grain and/or agriculture industry.
• Driver’s license.
• Must be eligible to work in Botswana
• Position start date 01 April 2021
