Main Purpose of the Job:
Responsible for managing the day-to-day BSB Insurance Agency (BSBIA) operations and provide required support to the key stakeholder, Botswana Savings Bank’s sales team in respect of insurance.
Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
• Liaise with the Bank’s sales team regularly to explore opportunities for insurance sales.
• Maintaining business pipeline for month in conjunction with the Bank’s sales team.
• Responsible for arranging product training, training refresher for sales team on regular basis.
• Responsible for educating sales team on underwriting guidelines to ensure smooth flow of business.
• Responsible for arranging training on completion of application/documentation for business sourced to ensure the TAT are maintained.
• Responsible for keeping the sales team updated with the requirements of business submitted to BSB Insurance Agency.
• Responsible for field underwriting of new applications (completeness of relevant documentation)
• Facilitate provision of policy statements and policy documents to customers.
• Ensure that all the sales materials (application/brochures etc) are always available to the sales team.
• Attending joint client meetings with Bank’s sales team.
• Tracking of sales leads and business closures.
• Support to work on untapped clients/data of the Bank to generate new avenues of business.
• Focus on sales team activation across all segments to increase/develop the business.
• Assist sales team in policies review of clients on quarterly basis.
• Drive balanced portfolio mix of protection and savings.
• Drive balanced premium mix portfolio.
• Managing cessions to the Bank.
• Ensuring Management Accounts are done correctly and timeously.
• Providing monthly reports to the Principal Officer.
• Contribution towards preparations of the Board Packs
• And any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time.
UNDERTAKE OTHER RELATED ACTIVITIES AS DIRECTED BY HEAD, BANCASSURANCE/ PRINCIPAL OFFICER
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related fields, plus active membership of professional association recognized local or internationally e.g., Associateship Member of Insurance Institute of South Africa (AIISA) or Fellowship Member of Insurance Institute of South Africa (FIISA), Fellowship of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII), Associateship of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII),
- Certificate of Proficiency in Short-Term and Long-Term insurance.
Experience:
- At least five (5) years post qualification experience.
