Location: Gaborone

Position Objective:

As a Senior Accountant at Botic Construction (Pty) Ltd, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the financial aspects of the company. Your objective will be to ensure financial stability, compliance, and strategic financial planning for sustained growth and success.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or a related role.
  • Experience in the construction sector is a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards.
  • Proven experience in strategic financial planning and execution.
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Relevant professional certifications would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

1) Financial Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.

2) Strategic Planning:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the organization’s financial strategy.
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making processes.

3) Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.

4) Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate financial considerations into decision-making processes.
  • Provide financial guidance to other departments.

5) Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate financial risks.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax requirements.
  • Implement internal controls and processes to safeguard company assets.
  • Liaise with company’s banks, prepare ad-hoc management reports.

6) Accounting & Reporting

  • Lead the accounting governance across all legal entities by supervising all accounting stakeholders.
  • Manage and follow-up intercompany invoicing model considering services provided by the different legal entities.
  • Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Prepare management accounts and reports on monthly/quarterly /annual basis that consolidate the financial information of group’s legal entities.
