Purpose of the Role

Develops and implements digitisation and technology strategy within Supply Chain in line with the SCM and Business strategy.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements digitisation roadmap for supply chain (SCM Data, Systems, automation program and all existing Supply Chain Systems)
  • Develop and manage the tools for data storage, processes, reporting, and tools to continuously improve traceability requirements and requirements adoption by every level of supply chain
  • Provides technical leadership and direction for the development and implementation of innovative strategies and activities to support the optimisation of supply chain management systems and processes
  • Continuously scan the environment for suitable systems for Debswana Supply Chain and ensures that the design, strategy, roadmap, support, and performance of supply chain systems maximizes supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide strategic planning, implementation and evaluation of all SCM Digitisation Projects. Manage and align skills, monitor and control projects and resources
  • Develops and deploys appropriate logistics management information systems that support the planning and monitoring of supply chain operations.
  • Supports supply chain capacity building efforts and ensures that systems and processes are in place to assure deliver in all areas of Supply Chain
  • Oversees the configuration and maintenance of online supplier registration and management platform
  • Oversees the Supply Chain reporting and technical development through analyzing and developing user requirements, product testing and management
  • Interprets operational requirements and integrates with discipline base financial needs to ensure availability of financial resources to meet business objectives
  • Manages the safety, health and environmental programme in area of responsibility
  • Initiates, monitors and controls short term sectional projects and ensures attainment of desired results
  • Manages and coordinates the implementation of legal and corporate governance principles/requirements in area of responsibly.
  • Implements departmental talent management initiatives by ensuring the right competence and effectiveness of manpower (capacity building) through developing and implementing career, localisation/succession, training and development plans
  • Manages key effectiveness areas of subordinates by setting, monitoring and reviewing performance and taking remedial action as necessary
  • Implement knowledge management principles through application of tools and methodologies to continuously improve and sustain business performance
  • Identifies and implements creative and innovative ideas to continuously improve and sustain business performance
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with all key stakeholders and partners (internal and external) to ensure achievement of business objective

Other Job Responsibilities

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or Equivalent

Experience

8 years of post-qualification experience in Supply Chain Management/Technology Management, with 3 years at middle management

Legal Certification/Professional Registration

  • Membership of relevant professional body as applicable
