The position will be responsible for all purchasing and expediting activities relating to the Motheo A4 construction project, including liaising with suppliers and transport operators to pre-empt deliveries and support the materials team.

  • Conducting product research and sourcing new suppliers and vendors.
  • Sourcing materials, goods, products, and services and negotiating the best or most cost-effective contracts and deals.
  • Issuing RFQ and RFP to vendors, reviewing quotes and submissions
  • Adjudicating and recommending suppliers based on cost and commercial terms
  • Process internal purchase requests and submit to the project team for processing.
  • Expediting of open orders to ensure delivery dates are achieved in line with construction deadlines
  • Liaising with suppliers and Accounts to resolve invoicing and delivery issues
  • Liaising with the transport company to understand inbound deliveries and coordinate collections
  • Liaise with the materials team on site for various daily tasks
  • Establishing professional relationships vendors and suppliers.
Selection Criteria
Qualifications: ·                 Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field.

·                 Membership of a Procurement Professional body (CIPS) Level 4

·                 Valid Botswana Class B Drivers Licence

Experience: ·                 3 years’ experience in mining Supply Chain Management,

·                 Mining industry experience or a similar environment will be an added advantage

·                 Experience with competitive tendering processes and RFQ
