VACANCY: PRINCIPAL VETERINARY OFFICER I – D2 (4 POSITIONS)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified citizens for the above positions at the Department of Wildlife and Manorial Parks (Serowe, Tsabong. Molepoble and Gaborone) under the Ministry of Environment and Tourism.
SALARY SCALE: (P337 008 P3 71 628) per Annum.
LEAVE: 30 working days per annum.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have Degree in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery Registered with Botswana Veterinary Surgeon^ Council.
EXPERIENCE: A Minimum of eight (8) years relevant work experience of which two (2) should have been served as Principal Veterinary Officer II, or equivalent in a reputable Private or Public Institute.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To plan, manage and coordinate functions of the Divisions aimed at promoting maintenance of ecosystem heath strategies, veterinary research and animal population management
DUTIES:
•Develops Wildlife veterinary DMslonal plan in line with Departments strategic goals and objectives.
•Interprets policies and programs and provides technical expertise in the formulation and or review of veterinary policies, strategies and related matters.
•Coordinates the development of regulations and operating procedures for wildlife veterinary services.
•Develops Memorandum of Understanding and Memorandum of Agreement for stakeholder collaboration.
•Manages and validates reviews of wildlife research proposals submitted by supervisees and independent researchers.
•Access and audits and inspection findings for wildlife captive facilities, ranches, farms arid rehabilitation centers, trier distributions, trends to inform policy formulation and programming.
