Purpose of the Role

Key Job Responsibilities
- Assures Technical processes, information and systems across operations and projects to ensure adherence to relevant laws/statutes, guidelines, standards, and best practice
- Develops and implements Technical Services data governance model, and actively promotes the concept of data sharing, data reuse, data quality and data standards
- Develops vision, strategy and principles for enabling Technical Services (MRM, Mining, Ore Processing) processes across operations and projects that aligns to overall business strategy, goals and objectives
- Directs and guides the integration of data from different technical disciplines, and integration of data from different functions
- Directs and guides the standardization, optimizations and integration of technical processes and systems with those for Technical Services’ business partners
- Drives process improvements and collaborates with technology partners in automation and data enhancements
- Leads in the acquisition, development, testing, deployment and standardization of Technical systems, and ensures alignment to appropriate strategy, guidelines, standards, and best practice
- Leads in the development of data structures, tools and workflows to support the generation of business insights for performance management and decision support
- Researches, evaluates, adapts and recommends new best practice, standards, tools, technology and/or systems in order to improve process/workflow efficiency and/or effectiveness across operations and projects
- Responds to business needs relating to the management of Technical data, information and knowledge across operations and/or projects, and responds with appropriate initiatives for meeting the business needs
Other Job Responsibilities
- Coordinates and monitors the implementation of safety, health and environmental programs in area of responsibility taking cognizance of all legal requirements
Education
- Bachelors Degree with Honours in Geoscience Field Techniques or Mining
- Post Graduate Diploma in relevant discipline
Experience
Minimum 10 years technical information management experience with a major mining company of which at least 3 years have been in a senior position. |
