PERFORMANCE & EFFICIENCY ENGINEER (X1)-MORUPULE

Main purpose of the position
To coordinate the activities of the Performance and Efficiency section providing technical advice for safe and efficient operations of the plant and its auxiliaries. Coordinate plant failure technical investigations to enhance availability, reliability and minimize generation losses
Job Responsibilities
- Review and verify operational parameters of power station for plant performance analysis to ensure there are no deviation from set limit and takes remedial action where appropriate in accordance to standard operational procedures.
- Produce statistical reports and summaries of power station performance including deviations from capability plans to identify any aspects of plant operation, which needs to be addressed, rectified, or improved
- Monitor and investigate plant performance to ensure that the plant and equipment within the station is operated optimally and within design specifications.
- Monitor equipment condition and recommends remedial action to avoid catastrophic failure of equipment
- Plan and coordinate testing and inspection of equipment and processes, then implement and monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and/or continuous improvement initiative
- Design physical inspections schedule and ascertain execution on the running plant and alert on
anomalies, which may impact on the performance and availability of the plant - Manage client and customer relationships by using defined systems and procedures.
- Identify the section needs and prepare budget for own area of the organization and conducts analyses
on budget progress while working within established systems. - Identify shortcomings and suggests improvements to existing processes, systems and procedures,
then delivers a plan for a small element of a change management program with guidance from a
project/program manager. - Develop procedures for an area within the organization, then monitors the implementation of those
procedures to improve power plant performance of equipment and systems - Deliver assigned projects by working within an established program management plan
- Undertakes such other related duties as directed by the supervisor from time to time to meet the exigencies of the Corporation
Qualifications
- A recognised Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent.
- Must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board
Experience
A minimum of five (5) years relevant post qualification
experience, of which two (2) years should have been in
supervisory capacity.
