DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE

VACANCY NO.: IRC 1905

The Faculty of Business invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of Part-Time Lecturer in Finance.

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to (i) teach undergraduate, postgraduate and executive courses; (ii) supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects; (iii) have the ability to teach at least three (3) of the following courses: Business Finance; Financial Statement Analysis; Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management; Financial Planning and Forecasting; and Financial Theory and Analysis; (iv) undertake scholarly research; (v) have an impactful engagement with the industry; and (vi) perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements: Candidates should: (i) have a Doctoral Degree in Finance or related field; (ii) show evidence of engagement in research; (ii) experience in teaching in a university or comparable institution, governance and social engagement will be added advantages, (iii) a relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFA) will be an added advantage.

N.B. a Master’s Degree in Finance or related field or a relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFA) will be an added advantage with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field with at least a 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent may be considered under special circumstances.

RemunerationRemuneration: The University of Botswana offers competitive part-time rates.
