Orange Digital Centre (ODC) Manager
Reporting to the Director – Legal & Corporate Affairs, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing project execution and managing partnerships/stakeholders. Additionally, the role includes oversight of budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance and measurement of project’s impact.
The main duties include but are not limited to:
- Oversee the autonomous management of the Orange Digital Centre.
- Promote and secure partnerships within the ecosystem to drive the ODC strategy.
- Manage ODC projects in coordination with all relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure overall project management with internal partners specifically Orange
- Coordinate Group and Orange Botswana and other external partners.
- Oversee the development and execution of budgets and business plans for the
- Manage the Orange Digital Centre donor program.
- Establish and maintain appropriate governance structures.
- Oversight of all ODC activities, including validation of concepts, execution of training sessions, talks, projects, internships, conferences, and partnerships.
- Lead and manage partnerships with universities, the tech ecosystem, and businesses in Botswana, focusing on innovation and recruitment.
- Coordinate the inaugurations of ODC Clubs, universities, and Fab Labs across the country.
- Support and coach teams to ensure effective program deployment and operations, including the Digital Academy, Fab Lab, Orange Fab, and ODC Clubs.
- Ensure proper communication on ODC activities, adhering to the ODC charter.
- Participate in corporate projects, including HR and other business departments.
Skills:
- Very solid skills in managing cross-functional projects.
- Deep understanding of start-up best practices, trends, and relevant regulations to ensure compliance and innovation.
- Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to develop programs that are inclusive and respectful of diverse communities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong marketing skills.
- Very good understanding of business issues related to digital, including customer experience, disruptive business models, and digital transformation.
- Good knowledge of the real functioning of companies, including private, public, universities, and academies.
- Proven record on team motivation, encouraging synergies and promoting the achievement of performance indicators.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Graduated from a business school and/or university with a Master’s degree (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role. Experience in entrepreneurship and support for start-ups. Previous experience working with donors (Local and International) is an added advantage.
