The Role: Young 1ove aims to reach up to 1 million youth in East & Southern Africa with proven life-saving information. The Finance & Admin Officer will be responsible for supporting the overall success of the Finance Department. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting the finance team through management and recording of day-to-day routine transactions and assistance with special projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful applicant will be required to complete the following tasks:
• Updating Young 1ove Organisation transaction records.
• Ensuring adherence to finance controls, processes, and timelines.
• Supporting & Liaising with field teams, ensure timely disbursement of program expenses and timely collection of
program related documentation.
• Consolidate and prepare payment instructions for paid volunteers.
• Maintain and update Fixed Asset Registers, ensure assets are clearly labelled, and physically verified in accordance
with procedures.
• Preparing of cheques, payment vouchers and completing bank runs.
• Assisting with month-end close processes such as count of cash on hand.
• Ensuring excellent record-keeping, archiving and documentation to support transactions.
• Handling petty cash.
• Receiving requests for funds for organizational related activities and disbursing related funds; and
• Working directly with the Finance Manager and Senior Finance & Administration Officer on special projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree (Accounting or Finance) or similar qualification required.
• Association of Accounting Technicians Diploma (AAT)
• Other additional professional certificates such as ACCA, CIMA, considered an asset.

• Analytical skills and willingness to learn: Analytical ability and problem-solving abilities are a must; enthusiasm to
learn required. Relevant work experience of one year or greater considered an asset.
• Technical skills: Excellent MS Excel skills; understanding of accounting standards and accrual basis of accounting;
experience with recording transactions and bookkeeping considered an asset.
• Class B Driver’s license considered an asset.
Reporting Structure: The Finance and Admin Officer will report to the Finance & Admin Manager.
Time Period: 2 years contract with potential for extension
