– OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGIST (RE-ADVERTISEMENT)
Qualifications: MBBS or equivalent with MMed qualification plus Msc specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynecology or equivalent from a BHPC recognized training institution.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years post Obstetrics and Gynecology qualification.
Certification: The Applicant must be registered with the Botswana Health Professions Council and licensed to practice.
Membership or affiliation to a recognized professional body is an added advantage.
Salary: F2 (P524 712 per annum) Scarce Skill Allowance: 40% of basic monthly salary
Doctors Overtime Allowance: 15% of basic monthly salary Private Practice Allowance: 10% of basic monthly salary
Entertainment Allowance: P10 273.80 per annum. Housing Allowance: 2% of basic salary
Leave: 30 working days per annum.
a. Optional Contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50% while employee pays 50%)
b. Gratuity payable at the rate of 30% of total amount of salary earned for the duration of the contract.
Job Purpose: Coordinate the provision of obstetrics and gynecological services to patients in the Botswana Defence Force.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
a. Provide advice on the implementation of obstetrics and gynecological policies and procedures to ensure compliance to set standards.
b. Assess booked and emergency obstetrics and gynecological patients to determine appropriate treatment modality.
c. Determine and administer appropriate obstetrics and gynecological interventions to ensure optimal recovery of patients.
d. Provide post-obstetrics and gynecological management to both in-patients and out-patients to ensure positive patient outcome.
e. Collaborate with Level II health facilities and develop initiatives to enable patient centric, coordinated care.
f. Conduct operational research to enhance obstetrics and gynecological techniques that improve patient outcome.
g. Manage the implementation of quality improvement initiatives to ensure operational efficiency.
h. Manage the implementation of Performance Management System to ensure the achievement of Military Health Services goals.
