MINING ASSISTANT (SHORT-TERM CONTRACT)
Job Summary:
To carry out general operational maintenance in area of responsibility or relevant section efficiently and effectively while adhering to safety standards, policies, and procedures.
Key Activities:
- Visually inspects the equipment in area of responsibility (pumps, belt extension, relief operator) for defects daily and completes appropriate checklists and log sheets.
- Performs tasks of a predominantly manual nature which may include but not limited to spillage, cleaning, lashing, unblocking, digging, purging removing vegetation.
- Operates and controls the relevant machines in area of responsibility by starting and shutting the machine as required by machine operating specifications, acknowledging machine critical alarms, and taking appropriate action.
- Performs maintenance activities in area of responsibility by assisting in carrying out maintenance activities relevant to area of responsibility on categorized or prescribed equipment.
- Takes responsibility for providing excellent service by developing self, applying skills, knowledge, and experiences to improve and measure their own performance against clear standards.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- O’ levels/BGCSE or its equivalent.
- Two (2) years relevant exposure in mining/engineering or ore processing plant.
- Understanding of Safety, Heath & Environment (SHE) procedures and standards.
