Sefalana Cash & Carry, a leading distributor of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) in Botswana, has opportunities for experienced traders to take up positions at its wholesale division. The successful candidates will undergo a basic six (6) months training to acquaint them with the company’s systems and procedures, business model, and corporate culture.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
a) A Botswana General Certificate in Secondary Education (BGCSE) or an equivalent academic qualification. A higher academic qualification will be an added advantage.
b) At least three (3) years’ work experience in a management position within an FMCG business environment.
c) A strong business acumen, resilient, and able to deliver on business objectives efficiently.
d) Be willing/prepared to relocate to anywhere in Botswana where the business has operations.
e) Strong supervisory skills; able to motivate diverse teams to enhance business performance.
f) Be proficient in interpreting management reports and able to develop suitable action plans.
g) Be self-driven, customer-centric, attentive to details, and fully aware of consumer trends.
h) A valid Class B driver’s license.

Upon successful completion of training, the position holder will be assigned a substantive management position and perform the following roles:
a) Supervise a team of subordinates within a designated branch or business department/unit.
b) Support human resource development initiatives as per the company’s business strategy.
c) Identify sales opportunities to ensure that the business achieves the set sales revenue targets
d) Monitor the pricing competitiveness and ensure that targeted gross profit margins are met.
e) Supervise the procurement function to ensure proper stock control/meet customers’ needs.
f) Monitor operating expenses and ensure that the business reaches the set financial targets.
g) Apply shrinkage control measures to minimize stock losses and advise senior management from time to time on initiatives that could help to prevent stock losses.
h) Ensure that merchandising standards are adhered to as per company standards/guidelines.
i) Build and maintain fruitful relations with all the stakeholders: customers and suppliers.
