Main Purpose of the Job
Responsible for reviewing operational information and applying data analytics approaches and techniques to draw insights which can be used for identifying and prioritising operational improvements which in turn, improve organisational effectiveness and efficiency, reduce cost to serve and maximise customer lifetime value.

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1. Work with Chief Operations Officer to identify key data and performance metrics to track.
2. Develop, in consultation with Legal and Risk functions, and implement data collection and storage policies, procedures and guidelines in order to store key data and track requisite key performance indicators.
3. Collaborate with Head, Information Technology and Specialist, Database Administrator to store key data and develop reports detailing key performance indicators.
4. Monitor key performance indicators and routinely report on the same to Chief Operations Officer.
5. Review key performance indicators, apply data analytics tools and methods in order to assess operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
6. Create detailed problem statements and engage with relevant parties to identify key requirements.
7. Prioritise business opportunities, in consultation with key stakeholders, and facilitate improvement ideation process.
8. Develop detailed budgets, and forecast expected benefits, to implement proposed mitigations.
9. Develop detailed cost-benefit analyses for and reprioritise business opportunities.
10. Develop business cases for identified business opportunities and present the same to Chief Operations Officer, Operations HODs and Head, Strategy and Customer Excellence.
11. Hand over project implementation to relevant individuals and provide monitoring support throughout project implementation.
12. Review improvement project outcomes, ascertain realised cost-benefits; compare actuals with projected and develop variance report to present to key project stakeholders.

Requirements

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Banking, Finance, Strategic Management, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or related area
Master’s in business administration, Banking, Finance, Strategic Management, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or related area would be an added advantage.

Experience:
Five (5) years’ experience in a business analysis, strategy or business improvement role at a bank, mass market financial institution or consulting firm.
Demonstrated experience employing data analytics techniques and quantitative analysis to business problems is essential.
