Responsibilities
We are looking for a versatile, driven and dynamic individual to join our team as Maintenance Coordinator. The individual will coordinate and execute maintenance activities of a group of maintenance practitioners in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation.
Key Performance Areas
- Recommends and incorporates cost containment initiatives into budget and controls expenditure within approved parameters.
- Assesses and validates maintenance plans developed by planning function to confirm feasibility of the plan’s implementation.
- Interprets and translates maintenance plan into specific tasks and activities to be carried out by subordinates and service providers.
- Co-ordinates the execution of the maintenance plan by allocating people and resources to specific tasks and activities.
- Inspects completed work to ensure compliance to standards.
- Analyses and reviews execution of maintenance activities to optimise efficiency and effectiveness using knowledge management tools such as Planned Job observations and After-Action Reviews.
- Identifies workflow problems in area of responsibility and recommends remedial actions
- Interprets standards, policies and regulations and initiates the necessary working procedures to ensure compliance.
- Authorises commencement of all work activities in area of responsibility through the issuing of written/verbal task instructions and through the authorising of work permits.
- Manages systems to ensure the fulfilment of all legal, regulatory and policy obligations in area of responsibility.
- Attends to all administrative functions in area of responsibility by:
- Carrying out and observing all associated administrative and clerical procedures
- Checking work progress and ensuring all diagnostic information is provided for error resolution and incident analysis.
- Initiates, monitors, controls, and coordinates short to medium term plans to ensure attainment of desired results.
- Identifies and manages the implementation of and adherence to legal and corporate governance principles/requirements.
- Manages subordinates’ key effectiveness areas by setting, monitoring, and reviewing performance and taking remedial action as necessary.
- Adheres to all safety health and environmental policies and procedures as well as Mines, Quarries, Works, and Machinery Act in area of
- Solves technical and operational issues in cooperation with relevant stakeholders.
- Utilises broad knowledge across electrical engineering technical areas to select and apply relevant tools and to provide technical expertise in the resolution of electrical engineering issues.
- Optimises performance levels of assets through actively monitoring their operation and creating solutions to encourage sustainable use.
- Optimises productivity and quality targets through utilising Engineering knowledge and co-operating with multi-disciplinary teams highlighting areas of improvement.
- Manages, monitors, and drives project activities within a specific project operation.
- Proactively escalates risks and proposes mitigating actions.
- Proactively identifies, monitors, and mitigates SHE risks in accordance with internal guidelines and external requirements.
- Conducts on-going risk analysis, looking ahead for contingent liabilities and opportunities and astutely identifying the risks involved.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma or Degree in Electrical engineering or equivalent
- 2 Appointment (Mines, Quarries, Works, and Machinery Act)
- 4 years relevant experience as Maintenance Supervisor/Technician/Planner/Scheduler for National Diploma holder or 3 years post qualification and relevant experience for Degree holder
