LOSS CONTROL MANAGER – LETLHAKANE
Sefalana Cash & Carry, a leading distributor of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) in Botswana, has an opportunity for a Loss Control Manager. The position is tenable at Sefalana Hyperstore Letlhakane in Letlhakane.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
a) A Botswana General Certificate in Secondary Education (BGCSE) or an equivalent academic qualification. A higher academic qualification or certifications in security management or risk management will be an added advantage.
b) At least five (5) years’ work experience with responsibilities relating to implementing security services/procedures, risk management, loss prevention and control measures. At least three (3) years’ work experience must have been at a managerial/supervisory level.
c) Ability to detect sources of risk through different methods and conduct investigations to bring each case to a proper closure.
d) Ability to initiate and coordinate loss prevention and control initiatives in a high traffic business environment.
e) Be able to initiate and deliver initiatives that will ensure loss prevention/control awareness amongst staff members and other stakeholders.
f) Strong supervisory skills that will ensure that the loss control team members are productive
g) A Class B driver’s license.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position holder will perform the following roles:
a) Conduct risk assessments from time to time and advise store management accordingly.
b) Supervise a team of sub-ordinates to ensure that there is discipline and productivity.
c) Implement laid down loss control systems and procedures to minimize loss of stock/assets.
d) Ensure that the branch is well prepared for stock-takes and advise store management.
e) Ensure that daily cashing up is done as per cashing up procedures to prevent loss of cash.
f) Liaise with the Botswana Police Service for any reported cases that may still be pending.
g) Complete, interpret and file all the mandatory loss control checklists on a regular basis.
h) Institute investigations of any suspicious transactions reported to the Loss Control unit.
i) Conduct loss control audits to assess compliance to loss control procedures/best practices.
j) Address staff members during staff meetings on their role in combatting stock losses.
