Conservation Manager Botswana

Luxury Lodge Company is looking for an experienced Conservation Manager to be based in the Okavango Delta/Chobe region of Botswana with regular travel to Namibia. For work permit purposes if not a Motswana then qualifications in Hospitality and Conservation are required

Experience requited:

A diploma/degree in conservation and land management

Knowledge in utility mapping and surveying

Knowledge of Microsoft programs

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in conservation management or similar position

Valid Drivers’ Licence

Duties include:

Oversee all environmental projects in Botswana and Namibia

Be involved in any research projects on the different concessions

Set environmental management plans and ensure that camps adhere to the BTO & NTB environmental standards

Form and maintain relationships with NGOs and research institutions in Botswana, Namibia and abroad

Manage community projects

Responsible for monitoring of field water projects

Ensure that all tractors are well serviced and looked after

Mapping of different concessions

Implementing preventative fire & environmental impact measures

Forming and maintaining relationships with government (DWNP) and other environmental and conservation stakeholders in Botswana and Namibia

Maintaining of bridges and roads on the concessions

Manage the team responsible for different problematic animals

Monitoring of flora & fauna

Hosting of guests and giving presentations

Responsible for environmental impact assessments/audits in all properties
