IT INFRASTRUCTURE TEAM LEADER (GABORONE) – BPS 33/2/2 Vol. 2 (1)
JOB SUMMARY
To coordinate and control day-to-day IT Infrastructure activities, ensuring effective
monitoring of the network, systems and the datacenter using appropriate tools to
achieve optimal performance and availability.
To advise on IT infrastructure issues relating to service provision and ensure effective
provision of Infrastructure Services for the business.
The position reports to IT Infrastructure Manager
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Key Responsibilities:
Advises on issues relating to IT infrastructure to facilitate informed decision making.
Optimize existing IT infrastructure projects to reduce costs and increase
productivity.
Research, advise and implement new technologies to spur a competitive advantage.
Contribute to the drafting of Policies, Standards and Procedures that guide users in
everyday activities with regard to the IT infrastructure.
Coordinate effective monitoring of the network, systems and the datacentre using
appropriate tools to achieve optimal performance and availability in accordance with
agreed SLA’s.
Establishes and maintains sound, professional relationships with customers.
Ensures high standards of Good Housekeeping and Safety are established and
maintained throughout the IT environment.
Support and maintain a sound IT infrastructure inventory comprising of all current
and future components to ensure functionality and efficiency.
Ensure a securely controlled IT environment with total adherence to policies and
controls to increase data safety.
Document IT infrastructure and performance issues.
Coordinate and supervise other professionals and provide guidance on IT
Infrastructure service provisioning.
Coordinate and controls day-to-day activities of the infrastructure supporting the
organization to ensure faults are resolved within the prescribed SLA times
Ensures that change management and change control methodologies are adhered to,
in order to manage the significant risks associated with changes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science and or technology industry specific
professional qualifications.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an IT support environment, 2 of which in a
supervisory/management capacity.
Broad knowledge of IT Infrastructure technology such as Virtualization, SAN Storage
Arrays, Modular Infrastructure, Backups and Communication Networks.
