IM Specialist-Production Systems Process at DIAMOND TRADING COMPANY BOTSWANA (DTCB)

We are looking for a versatile, driven and dynamic individual to join our team as IM Specialist- Production Systems Process. The individual will provide diamond System process/application support and expertise for business continuity and to ensure that all the process related systems are operating as expected with no negative impact on the production due to systems in accordance with specifications and organizational standards and procedures.

• Engages users to identify opportunities for improvement in IM application services they are currently using.
• Provides advice to Production Managers and Production Controllers regarding issues related to optimal use of Core diamond systems.
• Provides continuous first-level and second level support for the core diamonds systems.
• Attends to core diamonds application problems to the point of resolution.
• Monitors systems performance and resolve system issues.
• Applies data analysis and data modelling techniques based upon a detailed understanding of the core processes and in line with end user requirements.
• Assists the Operations Department in improving reporting on diamond stock related information.
• Implements business continuity through monitoring actions to meet agreed time and quality targets for the creation, testing and maintenance of core production systems recovery plans.
• Engages with internal and external clients to ensure alignment of process steps with customer requirements.
• Performs continuous monitoring reviews to make sure that the process aligns to the overall systems.
• Maps and plans more effective ways to use DAX to improve operational efficiency and pipeline reduction.
• Documents applications problem resolutions & knowledge management thereof
• Implements process rules, recovery routines and contingency procedures
• Ensures that all legal IM-related compliance requirements are complied with by DTCB staff in the area of responsibility.
• Ensures that all IM policy and procedures compliance requirements are complied with by DTCB staff in the area of responsibility.
• Applies data analysis and data modelling techniques based upon a detailed understanding of the corporate information requirements to identify Initiatives that need to be implemented to solve the company’s IM Applications shortfalls
• Leads management of IM projects as required, taking cognizance of project principles, specifications, time parameters, health, safety and legal requirements
• Ensure compliance to the company’s DRM procedures by conducting daily / weekly/ monthly and annually administration activities as defined by relevant policies and procedures.
• Implement process rules, recovery routines and contingency procedures.
• Implement business continuity through monitoring actions to meet agreed time and quality targets for the creation, testing and maintenance of business function information systems recovery plans.
• Coordinates the safety, health, and environmental program in area of responsibility.
• Recommends and incorporates cost saving initiatives into budgets and controls expenditure within approved parameters.
• Establishes and maintains effective relationships with all key stakeholders and partners (internal and external) to ensure achievement of business objectives.
• Manages/implements knowledge management principles through application of tools and methodologies to continuously improve and sustain business performance.
• Has Basic Diamond Sorting knowledge and understands diamond assurance processes and systems.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or relevant Business Qualification or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience and knowledge in administration and support of IT systems of which Within 5 years, at least 2 years of knowledge and/experience applicable to the midstream business pipeline activities and operations related to the following areas:
• Administration of Diamonds stock systems
• Administration of Diamonds processing systems, e.g. AX, IDIM, Lighthouse
• Good understanding of Core Diamond Process
• Basic familiarity with the technologies used by DTCB ERP Systems (SQL, Windows Servers, SQL Server Reporting Services)
