Purpose of the Job

Planning, directing and coordinating the operations of the business, performance monitoring, supervision and reporting; implementing of systems and procedures for operational efficiency; optimising staff performance and productivity.

REPORTS TO : Managing Director

Key Performance Areas

  • Develop and implement the business’ strategic and operational plans to meet the company’s strategic goals
  • Coordinate activities for existing business. Coordinate the budget process for the department and contribute to overall company budget.
  • Responsibility for achievement of productivity and quality goals
  • Develop and implement process maps and procedure manuals to maximise operational efficiency and business retention as well as portfolio administration.
  • Continuously review and evaluate business processes and systems.
  • Review performance data, to monitor and measure productivity.
  • Ensure that the company risk management processes are adhered to.
  • Develop and implement operational risk controls, embed service standards and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide business performance reports to Executive Committee and the Board
  • Manage and supervise all business functions including broking operations
  • Monitor staff performance and implement performance reviews
  • Training and development of staff to maximise potential

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Or minimum AIISA/ACII or equivalent
  • MBA will be an added advantage
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience at senior management level
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders of the business.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles and practices
  • Knowledge of Strategic Planning and Strategic management
