GENERAL MANAGER – EXISTING BUSINESS X 1
Purpose of the Job
Planning, directing and coordinating the operations of the business, performance monitoring, supervision and reporting; implementing of systems and procedures for operational efficiency; optimising staff performance and productivity.
REPORTS TO : Managing Director
Key Performance Areas
- Develop and implement the business’ strategic and operational plans to meet the company’s strategic goals
- Coordinate activities for existing business. Coordinate the budget process for the department and contribute to overall company budget.
- Responsibility for achievement of productivity and quality goals
- Develop and implement process maps and procedure manuals to maximise operational efficiency and business retention as well as portfolio administration.
- Continuously review and evaluate business processes and systems.
- Review performance data, to monitor and measure productivity.
- Ensure that the company risk management processes are adhered to.
- Develop and implement operational risk controls, embed service standards and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provide business performance reports to Executive Committee and the Board
- Manage and supervise all business functions including broking operations
- Monitor staff performance and implement performance reviews
- Training and development of staff to maximise potential
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Or minimum AIISA/ACII or equivalent
- MBA will be an added advantage
- Minimum 5 years’ experience at senior management level
- Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders of the business.
- Knowledge of business and management principles and practices
- Knowledge of Strategic Planning and Strategic management
