Main Purpose of the Job
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, planning, and operations of the BSB Micro-Lending subsidiary functions including profitability and healthy balance sheet, product development, NPL as well as managing other wealth creation products and associated operations of the business (e.g. insurance).
Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the business strategy for the Micro Lending Services division in alignment with the overall goals and objectives of BSB.
- Identify market opportunities, trends, and risks to drive business growth and sustainability.
- Set performance goals and KPIs for the division and monitor progress towards achieving them.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the micro lending business, including loan origination, underwriting, disbursement, and collections.
- Ensure efficient and effective processes are in place to deliver high-quality services to customers.
- Monitor loan performance, portfolio quality, and risk exposure to maintain a healthy and profitable loan portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies governing micro lending activities.
- Implement risk management practices to mitigate credit, operational, and regulatory risks associated with micro lending operations.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
- Build and lead a high-performing team of professionals within the Micro Lending Services division.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to staff to enhance their skills and capabilities.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, partners, customers, and internal departments.
- Represent BSB’s Micro Lending Services division in meetings, conferences, and industry events to enhance the company’s reputation and visibility.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting or related area
- Master’s Degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting or related area is strongly preferred.
- Master’s in Business Administration is and added advantage
Experience:
- Eight (8) years of relevant experience in a bank or other mass market or micro lending financial institution including five (5) years of Strategic management experience.
