JOB DESCRIPTION:
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Site Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for providing all the mechanical engineering expertise to the mine. He/she will be responsible for all mechanical engineering activities.
Job Summary
• Ensure all Mechanical PMs (Preventative Maintenance Schedules) are to required OEM Standards and recorded within the PRM system.
• Ensure all PM’s (electrical and mechanical) are completed to work standard and timing and recorded within the relevant PRM system.
• Review Mechanical engineering drawings, update, and correct as required.
• Ensure fabrication standards are maintained by assigned staff.
• Budget control
• Recruit, guide, train, monitor and discipline assigned employees as required.
• Plan and prepare work and equipment usage schedules.
• Develop mechanical engineering expenditures priority for equipment
• Develop, refine and maintain applicable mechanical maintenance procedures.
• Develop mechanical engineering material and labor forecasts.
• Train and inform employees about new work procedures.
• Provide information on modification of work policies, safety regulations, electrical codes and specifications.
• Maintain all required Mechanical and electrical legislative documentation. (Working with electrical supervisor)
• Manage all Routine Site maintenance activities.

Qualification & Experience
• High National Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical engineering or equivalent
• Degree in Mechanical/Electrical would be added advantage.
• Member of a recognised engineering regulatory body with a practicing certificate.
• Minimum of 5 years in a similar role
• Must have a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.
• Computerized Maintenance Management System (Pragma ONKEY), Microsoft office (Word, excel, outlook) skills be an advantage.
• English language proficiency written and reading.
• Strategic thinker, negotiation skills regarding Service Level agreements etc
• Budget control and financial aptitude and knowledge.
• Have rigorous attention to detail.
• Knowledge of:
– Crushing and screening equipment
– Jig Plant equipment
– Ceramic Disc Filters
• Ability to translate and meet maintenance requirements as specified.
• Sound Trouble shooting ability (RCA Methodologies)
• Strong conceptualisation skills
• Must have own transport and valid driver’s license
