Fixed Assets Officer

Reporting to the Fixed Assets Supervisor, the successful incumbent will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate records of the company’s fixed assets, ensuring proper allocation of costs, and overseeing the acquisition and disposal processes. This role involves reconciling asset-related accounts, supporting audit activities, and ensuring compliance with financial controls and regulations.

The main duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring accurate and complete documentation of all fixed assets, including acquisition, disposal, and transfer records.
  • Conducting regular verification of fixed assets and oversee the tagging process.
  • Collaboration with IT and controlling departments to oversee the correct allocation of asset costs to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Preparing fixed asset schedules for month-end and year-end closing, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Reconciliation of income statement and balance sheet accounts related to fixed assets on a monthly basis.
  • Receiving and capturing creditor invoices related to fixed asset purchases and disposals and verify compliance of invoices with purchase orders, delivery notes, and original documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Part Qualification in Professional certifications such as BICA, ACCA, CIMA will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in fixed asset management, accounting, or a related financial role, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
  • Experience with ERP system is essential.
