Main Purpose of the Role:

The ESG Manager’s primary responsibility is to provides leadership and manage the company’s overall Environmental, Social and Governance program.  Working closely with the other business units and the company’s investor relationship team to map out and execute a strategy to manage and improve (where necessary) the organization’s management of ES&G deliverables.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and oversees implementation of strategy for Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) in PNRB.
  • Coordinates the development and implementation of ESG policies, standards, and practices to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Ensures continuous monitoring of performance against ESG Strategy, regularly benchmarking of PNRB ESG performance against peers, and against industry trends and best practices.
  • Identifies issues, risks, opportunities and trends that may impact the company from an ESG and corporate responsibility perspective.
  • Scopes and maps local, regional and national stakeholders and builds and nurtures relationships with the same to ensure achievement of business objectives.
  • Prioritizes the issues that are most important to PNRB, off-takers, stakeholders and shareholders while considering opportunities for business growth and risk mitigation.
  • Develops external ESG reporting and work collaboratively across business functions to drive program awareness and communicate program results.
  • Develops and implements PNRB corporate programs to drive awareness and achieve intended targets.
  • Creates and drives engagement opportunities that serve employees, suppliers, consumers and partners while aligning with PNRB’s mission and vision.
  • Creates dashboards and reports to track performance against ESG Metrics for various audiences (employees, Executives, Stakeholders, Shareholders/Investors & Board).
  • Works cross-functionally to develop and implement successful marketing, corporate communications and PR strategies.
  • Provides subject matter expertise and best practice guidance on ESG to operations.
  • Manages subordinates’ key effectiveness areas by setting, monitoring and reviewing performance and taking remedial action as necessary.

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Business or related field.
  • 8 years post-qualification experience with ESG programs in a corporate environment. 3 of which should be at supervisory or junior management level.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of ESG frameworks, standards and trends is required
  • Demonstrated experience in working with multiple stakeholders to successfully execute action plans.

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to influence at senior levels across the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with high levels of motivation, initiative and energy.
  • Executive presence along with a passion for teamwork and collaboration are a must.
