Title: Energy Management Coordinator

Purpose of the Role
The Energy Management Coordinator implements the energy management programme and best practice guidance on energy & climate change management in line with operational requirements. The role facilitates the implementation, effective monitoring and reporting on energy and climate change management programmes. The role is also responsible for creating awareness on energy and climate change management through training, information sharing and continuous reporting to management
Key Job Responsibilities
- Recommends and incorporates cost saving initiatives into the budget and control expenditure within approved budgets
- Coordinates the development of action plans and maintenance of an effective energy management system to support the Debswana Energy & Climate Change strategy
- Facilitates the implementation of the energy management plans in line with the Debswana Energy & Climate Change Strategy
- Drives continual improvement through best practice identification and innovative solutions
- Coordinate the risk management process within the operation in order to minimize the climate change risk profile and maximize the realization of opportunity for the operation
- Evaluates, analyzes, plan and coordinates the implementation of interventions to address emerging climate change risks
- Contributes inputs for reporting on performance and ensures data integrity in the data management systems
- Implements energy and climate change management programs for key performance indicators to achieve set performance targets for the operation in line with the corporate targets
- Implements the energy and climate change standards and provide internal assurance against set standards
- Coordinates the implementation and adherence to legal and corporate governance principles/requirements in areas of responsibility
- Implements knowledge management principles through application of tools and methodologies to continuously improve and sustain business performance
- Implements individual development plans and manage variance
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with all key stakeholders and partners to ensure achievement of business objectives
- Manages and coordinates the implementation of safety, health and environmental programme in area of responsibility

Education
- Bachelors Degree: Engineering, Environmental Management, Energy Management, or Equivalent
Experience
- 4 years post qualification experience.
- Experience with evaluation for energy optimisation.
- Mining background is advantageous.
- Good understanding of the total mining value chain is advantageous.
