Employee Wellness Intern (2 Year Contract)
Main Purpose of the Job:
Reporting to the Employee Wellness Specialist, the incumbent will assist in planning, developing, coordinating, and evaluating a comprehensive employee wellness program. The intern will also assist in research, data analysis, program coordination, and various administrative tasks aimed at improving employee health and wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Program Development: Support the development and implementation of wellness programs by conducting preliminary research and gathering relevant data.
- Awareness Campaigns: Help in creating and distributing informational materials that heighten awareness of health risks and promote healthy behaviours among employees.
- Event Coordination: Assist in organizing wellness activities and events, coordinating with internal committees, department teams, and external service providers.
- Health Assessments: Support employees in completing health assessment plans to identify their health and wellness needs.
- Data Management: Assemble and manage data from various sources to assist in the assessment and planning of health education and wellness programs.
- Community Liaison: Help maintain relationships with community wellness service providers and coordinate service delivery to employees.
- Project Management: Ensure timely completion of assigned projects and tasks, providing regular updates to the Employee Wellness Specialist.
Skills and Competencies:
The candidate should exhibit the following;
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to manage multiple tacks and work independently.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Academic Qualification and Experience
The candidates should have attained the following:
- A degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Psychology, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Previous internship or work experience in a health or wellness setting.
