The incumbent will be responsible for leading E&I processes and ensuring that all work is delivered safely and in compliance with legislative requirements.
The Electrical & Instrumentation Superintendent is responsible for the safe and timely installation of Motheo infrastructure including construction and installation of all electrical and instrumentation equipment.
Key Performance Areas
- Monitoring and ensuring electrical works are performed in compliance with the required standards and statutory requirements.
- Providing supervision and technical expertise to the site electrical construction team
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical faults on site.
- Develop daily, weekly and monthly work schedule.
- Understand, interpret schematics, ladder drawings, technical specifications, manufacture’s manuals, and maintenance, troubleshooting of electrical, electronics, instrumentation, and control equipment.
- Conduct E & I audit and performance reviews for proposed control systems.
- Provide technical support to all process plant during Operation ensuring that the appropriate corrective actions are taken to remedy the situation.
- Responsible for the development of a trusting and mutual relationship with both internal and external services suppliers.
Technical Competencies
- Familiar with Electrical and Instrumentation systems and applications e.g., SCADA and other software
- Competent in
- Familiar with Allen Bradley PLCs
- Conversant with fibre optic splicing and maintenance of fibre optic network for the mine
- Accustomed in GA45 and GA55+ Atlas Copco Compressors
- Strong knowledge in electrical safety and adherence to procedures.
- Ability to supervise the installation, repair, and maintenance of specialized electrical equipment and control devices in the processing plant.
- Well-developed contract management skills and commercial acumen.

Qualification & Experience
- Qualified / certified Electrician/Instrumentation practitioner.
- Tertiary qualification in electrical / Systems Engineering or equivalent trade or industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in mining process plant electrical and instrumentation maintenance.
- Traceable experience in employee training Junior Engineers and E&I Technicians
- Experience in control system engineering is very key
- Experience working with CMMS
- Proven experience in gyratory crushers, 8MW Sag Mill and Ball Mill
- Compliant with Botswana legal and statutory requirements
- Experience in Pronto, Citect 2018 R2, Solidworks is crucial.
