Purpose of the Role

Turns abstract business needs into actionable data pipelines and analytics platforms, which acquire, cleanse, transform and publish data to solve business problems. Designs and builds robust data infrastructure to efficiently collect, store, and process large volumes of data, ensuring availability and reliability for various data-driven applications and analytics initiatives. Oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of data engineering projects according to the overall service delivery model.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Prepares and coordinates the section’s budget within approved parameters

Other Job Responsibilities

  • Supports IT HR systems within set IT Service Management Frameworks such as ITIL and COBIT etc.

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in in Data Engineering, Informatics, Computer Science, Physics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Information Systems, Information Technology

Experience

• Building data visualisations in Power BI.
• Building ETL/ELT processes in SQL Server.
• Creating data models.
• Data warehousing.
• Data wrangling.
• Data modelling.
• Working on data management initiatives in the mining  industry is advantageous.
• Good understanding of the full mine value chain is advantageous.

Legal Certification/Professional Registration

  • A recognized qualification with a professional insurance body(AIISA or ACII)
