COORDINATOR/LECTURER POSITION (Contract Position)

BUSINESS CLINIC

VACANCY NO: IRC 1945

Duties: The successful candidate will be required to devote 70% of his/her time performing coordination functions of the Business Clinic including i) to establish and maintain links with the industry; ii) to establish and maintain a business consultancy unit whose functions shall be to provide consultancy services to the public; iii) to effectively manage students’ activities associated with the Business Clinic’s mandate; iv) Managing the Business Clinic’s operational performance against established goals and objectives identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective action needed.

20% of the candidate’s time shall be devoted to conducting research in his/her area of specialization while 10% shall be devoted to teaching, assessing and developing course materials as well as supervising student projects.

The candidate is also expected to perform any other tasks which are incidental to and aligned with the above key functions as may be directed by the Deputy Dean of the Faculty.  

Requirements:

Candidates should have a minimum of PhD in any business related disciplines. The following shall be added advantages: i) A proven track record in developing and managing industry partnerships; ii) A proven record of providing consultancy services; iii) A minimum of 3 years’ experience in small business and entrepreneurship development, one of which is in a higher education context; iv) Evidence of engagement in research; v) Evidence of involvement in governance and community engagement; vi) Evidence of teaching at a University or comparable institution and vii) Demonstration of effective academic leadership.

N.BApplicants with a relevant Masters’ Degree with at least a 2.1 pass of at least 3.6 may be considered under special circumstances for teaching and research.
