MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Collaborate closely with the Executive Committee and the CEO to define and steer the long-term direction and growth trajectory of the company.
  2. Lead comprehensive financial planning, including budgeting and strategic financial initiatives, to ensure the alignment of financial resources with the company’s goals.
  3. Provide critical financial insights and data-driven analysis to support informed decision-making across all levels of the organization.
  4. Participate in the Board of Directors, prepare and present the financial report to the Board of Directors
  5. Initiate all actions necessary to improve the company’s working capital (reminders of unpaid invoices, management of supplier deadlines, inventory disposal) and improve its management;
  6. Ensure cash flow forecast management
  7. Champion the implementation and adherence to best-in-class governance practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
  8. Guarantee the production of high-quality financial statements that comply with IFRS and local accounting regulations, and ensure timely completion of audited financial reports.
  9. Ensure the prompt and accurate sharing of financial information with all key stakeholders, including regulators, BURS, OMEA, the CEO, banks, and the board of directors.
  10. Proactively assess, monitor, and mitigate financial risks to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure financial stability.
  11. Manage, mentor, and develop the financial team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the department.
  12. Ensure that the entire Orange Botswana workforce has a foundational understanding of financial principles, empowering them to contribute effectively to the company’s financial health.

  • Manage the relationship with auditors, banks & other statutory bodies
  • Negotiate and structure funding for the company if required
  • Monitor KPIs such as growth, EBITDAaL, ROCE etc.
  • Ensure timely and efficiently rollout of relevant finance projects for the company
  • Ensure debt servicing and compliance with financial commitments to investors
  • Ensure the production of the various group reports
  • Ensures the improvement of processes and the management of change

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  1. Masters in Finance or equivalent
  2. At least 10 years’ experience with high exposure in finance with at least 5 years at management level
