CHIEF ENGINEER (HEAD OFFICE X 1) Vacancy No. 3 of 2024
Main Purpose of the Job
To plan current and future requirements of national airports and airfields and prepares, corresponding budgetary costing for airport development and maintenance. Supervises Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Special Systems engineering activities at airports by providing overall guidance to airports engineering and maintenance staff and other Airports divisions.
Position Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, mechanical, engineering, or related field from a recognized university.
- A relevant post graduate qualification would be an added advantage.
- Registration with Engineers Registration Board (ERB) mandatory.
Professional/Technical:
- Membership of a recognized professional institution
- Project management
- Knowledge of ICAO/IATA regulations, procedures, practices, and manuals
- Knowledge and application of legal and regulatory frameworks in Botswana.
Experience:
- A minimum of nine (9) years of relevant post qualification experience in engineering management or related fields of which six (6) years should have been served at supervisory level or role within an aviation environment.
- Proven experience in project planning and design, technical review, contracts management and practical application of engineering science, technology and project management would be advantageous.
