Charging & Billing Engineer
To manage the operations of Orange Botswana convergence solution (charging and Billing) and e-recharge platforms together with its sub systems.
The main duties include but are not limited to:
Ensure 24/7 availability and stability on all convergence solution nodes and its sub systems.
- Perform day to day operations and maintenance tasks on convergence solution and its sub systems.
- Ensure synchronization between network elements.
- Secure an efficient user support on day to day activities (airtime credits, correction of failed provisioning requests, system functional issues)
- Troubleshoot and fix system and user operations problems or liaise with vendors or 3rd Party support to fix operations anomalies through the incident management process.
- Ensure flow of usage tickets between IN and Billing Platform and Business Intelligence nodes, with error analysis, correction and recycling.
- Inform and advice SMC and management on issues related to systems operations.
- Secure technical support for Business Intelligence functions.
- Accurate and timely execution of bill runs.
- Ensure proper execution of auto refill module for hybrid customers
- Ensure timely processing of payments in the billing system and synchronization with the financial system.
- Support the business in management and operations of Loyalty System (LMS).
- Manage the operation of the system databases and carry out some operations administrative functions (Shutdown/Start-up, datafile management, archive logs management, etc).
- Contribute to QoS reports through coordination by SMC.
- Management of debt collection system operations according to defined gates.
- Contribute to weekly incidents/tickets review with vendors or 3rd party support.
Skills:
- Good analytical skills.
- Innovative.
- Excellent knowledge of database technologies.
- Good knowledge of scripting languages (java, perl, php and c++).
- Good knowledge of Unix/Linux Operating Systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree in Computer Engineering /Telecommunications / Computer Science Academic level
A Maters Degree would be an added advantage
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a telecommunications environment with emphasise in charging and billing.
