Responsibilities
We are looking for a versatile, driven and dynamic individual to join our team as Catering Assistant. The individual will assist in food preparation and service, cleaning, replenish vending machines and provide office refreshments.
Key Performance Areas
- Cleans and replenishes vending machines daily and reports faults and stock level.
- Distributes mid-morning snack on all the floors and keeps track of stock.
- Prepares and displays sufficient supplies of cold dishes for the service period.
- Assists with food preparation, presentation and serving of same.
- Prepares and serves beverages in accordance with schedule.
- Clears and cleans all dining tables throughout service period.
- Cleans equipment, work areas, crockery, cutlery and utensils.
- Assists in special functions, which may sometimes take place outside normal working hours.
- Off-loads deliveries from suppliers and packs in accordance with laid down procedures.
- Removes refuse and swill to the appropriate collection point.
- Cleans the extractor surfaces on daily basis in compliance with safety and hygiene standards.
- Cleans cruet and condiment sets and refills in accordance to set standards.
- Attends to customer queries and complaints in accordance with procedure.
- Complies with safety, health and environment policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Junior Certificate
- At least two year’s experience in a commercial kitchen environment
