To acquire goods and services for the corporation in a timely, cost-effective and ethical manner, and in adherence to the Corporation’s procurement policy and procedure. Ensure outages are thoroughly investigated to a satisfactory outcome, that there is accurate and timely flow of material and supplies that supports effective and cost-efficient businesses requirements. The position is charged with maintaining parts inventory, assist customers/distributors and maintain records; parts stock, issuing parts and supplies and/or purchasing assigned or designated parts and services from approved vendors.
1.1 Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities (Key Performance Areas)
- Reconcile & update stock on hand with various stations, general sales agents/ground handling agents and other Airport Service agents on a monthly basis.
- Withdraw stock from non-paying general sales agent/ground handling agents and other Airport Service agents to limit credit risks, in liaison with credit control team.
- Blacklist lost, misplaced and stolen cargo inventory documents to prevent loss of revenue and ensure accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with Fleet planning, Support teams, Maintenance Operations, Procurement and other Air Botswana stakeholders in the Supply Chain operation.
- Conduct inventory forecasts and forward planning of various inventory requirements to enable a steady supply of material / goods / services
- Adhere to inventory control policies and place orders with parts and material suppliers to ensure the required material
- Coordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies according to production and ground schedules or department priorities.
- Compile reports that collate the movement of inventory on a monthly basis and submit to the Manager of the role.
- Understand current usage and future inventory requirements using systems and data to ensure the supply chain maintains the appropriate balance and levels of repairable, spares and consumable assets to meet the requirements of aircraft maintenance plans and schedules.
- Trigger the provision/re-provision of spares & repair purchase order requests to meet minimum balance requirements, fleet plan and required delivery dates
- Understand and ensure performance targets for cost and minimum balance levels are achieved efficiently whilst continually working to optimise existing inventory
- Forecast and manage excess and obsolete stock holding by undertaking appropriate disposal activities
- Understand asset lifting and overhaul requirements and effectively plan and manage forecasted requirements to ensure minimal impact to aircraft maintenance
Minimum Education required
- A recognized Degree in Materials Management / Inventory Management / Purchasing & Supplies Management/ Business Management.
- CIPS Certification will be an added advantage.
Minimum Experience required
- At least four (4) years’ post qualification experience as of which two (2) should have been in Inventory Controlling, Procurement and Material Management or related activities.
- Experience in Aviation Industry will be an added advantage.
