Business Intelligence Specialist

Responsible for providing business reporting, analysis, and insights through the design, implementation, and management of organisation wide business big data systems. Collaborate with business stakeholders to collect, ingest, transform, and analyse data to uncover insights for business decision-making.

The main duties include but are not limited to:

Designing, implementing, and maintaining Big Data solutions, and ensure compliance with the data protection act and regulatory requirements.
Design and automate pipelines in support of data and analytics projects, including integrating new data sources into the data lake/ warehouse.
Designing, implementing, and managing databases to ensure high availability and data integrity.
Lead & coordinate all business intelligence related projects and ensure compliance to data integrity standards.Work closely with internal business and technical stakeholders to ensure objectives, priorities and key requirements are understood and agreed upon.
Effectively communicate data trends, inconsistencies, unavailability to executive management.
Ensure timely delivery of business reports and data accuracy.

Good knowledge of Big Data querying tools, such as Hive, and Impala
Excellent knowledge of data management technologies and scripting languages (SQL, MySQL, Oracle)
Knowledge of IT Programming (SQL, MySQL, R) and visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
Good leadership and interpersonal skills

Qualifications and Experience:

Degree in Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Information Systems / Business Intelligence / Data Analytics and Science.
Professional certification in relevant big data technologies and data analysis will be an added advantage.
A Master’s Degree would be an added advantage
Minimum experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a data analytics environment with emphasize in Business Intelligence / Data Analytics / Big Data
