Business Development Officers x2 (12 Months Fixed Term Contract-Gaborone)

Main Purpose
Supports bank’s agents across the network which covers but not limited to 3rd party, Bank POS, Own Agents. Works with branch managers to engage agents across the country in the region allocated. Manage the channel ensuring growth into a sustainable business line and profitability. Responsible in driving bank agent onboarding & product uptake, agency banking transactions and adoption of the channel in line with the bank’s Alternate Channel game plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and onboard viable agents/locations for onboarding in accordance to set targets and regions set by the Agency Banking manager.
  • Ensure optimal performance of all agents activated on the platform, float to operate and bank customers they serve. Look at issues around connectivity at different agents work with the agent to ensure target uptime and availability of service.
  • Provide support on all activities related to agent onboarding, management, training, business development, and issue resolution in line with the bank’s expectation.
  • Act as the liaison officer between the bank and agent cascading information of bank products, issues faced by agents etc. Ensure optimal utilization of agent POS terminals and mobile app.
  • Provide daily reports to the ATM & Agency Banking manager of visits done, agents engaged, activities in the market and competitor related insights which feed into the reports done by the agency banking manager.

Key Requirements

  • A Business Management or B Com Degree
  • At least 3 years in mobile network operator operations distribution channel in banking, financial services, fintech with minimum of 1 years in Sales and Distribution and customer engagement
  • A tech-based certificate, diploma or degree an added advantage
