To provide excellent service by processing corporate customers transactions in a quick, correct and efficient manner according to specified procedures. Understand the risks associated with the control and handling of cash, and maintain effective controls to manage these risks. Maintain a high level of integrity and ethical standards.

experience and qualifications

  • Minimum qualification in BGCSE
  • Certificate in Accounting and Business Studies (CABS)/ AAT, NIIT
  • Botswana Institute of Bankers Certificate being an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 year experience in a banking environment with exposure to Telling functions.
  • Frontline experience would be an advantage.

additional requirements


Ensure that items cashed are technically correct and signed, according to laid-down instructions.
Attend to cheque encashment, large corporate deposits, Savings withdrawals etc, according to laid-down procedures.
Attend to change transactions.
Accept cheque and/or cash deposits, according to laid-down procedures.
Ensure that cheques and cash included in deposits are checked in terms of Duty of Care obligations (i.e. Anti-Money Laundering etc).
Ensure that all items cashed are within laid-down limits and refer all transactions exceeding limits to the appropriate area for authorisation.
Ensure that all laid-down policies and procedures regarding the handling, locking away and security of cash are adhered to.
Ensure that cash holdings are kept within prescribed limits at all times.
Balance cash daily and report any differences promptly Prompt turn-around times for transactions, efficient service.
Customer queuing times within laid-down limits.
Zero tolerance to non adherence to laid down procedures. Low levels of differences in cash and operational losses.
Positive Internal Audit and Compliance report findings.
Show sensitivity to customers’ individual requirements as well as the bank’s laid-down operational/procedural limitations.
Refer problems falling outside of parameters to the team leader for resolution.
Able to take the initiative within limits of authority.
