Morupule Coal Mine is located 7 km northwest of the urbanized village of Palapye (the fastest growing center outside the capital city of Gaborone), along the Serowe-Palapye national highway (A14). The company’s vision is ‘To be a partner of choice in the global coal transition’.

  •  ASSET MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR

Job Summary:
To co-ordinate, maintain and support the maintenance planning functions to ensure consistent application of maintenance (Asset Management) policy and procedures in area of responsibility.

Key Activities:
• Implements the Maintenance Planning quality assurance programme in accordance with set governance protocols/principles.
• Analyses the divisional area’s financial needs to develop a budget and ensures sufficient financial resources to meet business needs.
• Manages and controls allocated funds and operates within approved parameters.
• Co-ordinates the establishment and review of short-term and medium-term maintenance plan forecasts by confirming maintenance windows with stakeholders and coordinating pre-shut maintenance activities with stakeholders.
• Initiates and recommends long term engineering maintenance plans to achieve departmental objectives in area of responsibility.
• Coordinates the planning and scheduling of statutory inspections, non-destructive tests to ensure compliance to legal requirements/internal standards.
• Integrates short- and medium-term maintenance master schedule with production plans in area of responsibility.
• Coordinates continuous improvement initiatives by facilitating root cause analysis and ensuring implementation of recommendations.
• Maintains CMMS Master Data entries (e.g. Bill of materials, maintenance schedules etc.) and
updates change as necessary.
• Develops and updates equipment maintenance plan for all Technical Assets through determining the criticality of each piece of equipment through use of tools like Failure Mode Effect Criticality Analysis.
• Produces periodic maintenance performance reports and plans.
• Captures Statutory inspection certificates on Computerised Maintenance Management System.
• Initiates, monitors and controls short, medium, and long-term projects to ensure attainment of desired results.
• Identifies and manages the implementation of and adherence to legal and corporate governance principles/requirements.
• Coordinates the implementation of safety, health, and environmental programme in area of responsibility.
• Manages key effectiveness areas of subordinates by setting, monitoring, and reviewing performance and taking remedial action as necessary.
• Implements knowledge management principles through application of tools and methodologies to continuously improve and sustain business performance.
• Identifies and implements creative and innovative ideas to continuously improve and sustain business performance.
• Implements the talent management initiatives in area of responsibility by ensuring the right competence and effectiveness of manpower (capacity building) through developing and implementing career, succession, training, and development plans.
• Establishes and maintains effective relationships with all key stakeholders and partners to ensure achievement of business objectives.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
• National Craft Certificate (NCC) plus National Diploma in Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Eight (8 years as an Artisan with Three (3) years as a Maintenance Coordinator or Six (6) years post graduate relevant experience for a National Diploma holder.
• Class B Driver’s License.
