The position is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining piping systems for heating and cooling of the plant.
The Artisan Fitter provides maintenance support for process plant equipment including crushers, conveyors, pumps, mills, concentrators, flotation cells and pressure filters to maintain optimum performance.
Key Performance Areas
- The role involves collaborating with project staff to design the layout for a pipe system
- Ensures that the plant is in accordance with operation codes, policies, and safety standards.
- Responsible for resolving pipe issues such as clogs or leaks
- Designing and assembling piping structures used in conveying chemicals, steam, and hot liquids at industrial, commercial, and residential properties.
- Welds, solder or cement joints on pipes and pipe fittings to assemble and secure pipes
- Attach pipes to fixtures, such as tanks by means of clamps, brackets or welding equipment.
- Oversee the repair and replacement of damaged or worn-out pipe components
- Install and configure automatic pipe control systems.
- Ensures that the plant is in accordance with operation codes, policies, and safety standards.

Qualification & Experience
- National Craft Certificate (NCC): Fitter
- Valid Light Duty Vehicles Driver’s License
- 3 years + continuous experience in process plant maintenance
- Sound knowledge in the maintenance, repairs and fault finding of the processing plant equipment.
